Hit the Trail is a community bike ride and rally celebrating the healthy Santa Clarita lifestyle and the City's thirty-plus miles of off-street bike trails. Hit the Trail also starts the official countdown to the return of the Amgen Tour of California to Santa Clarita which will happen Saturday February 21.

Hit the Trail will be held on Saturday January 24th and community members are invited to join the Mayor and CityCouncil members, along with other community leaders, to enjoy an escorted leisurely bike ride to Bridgeport Park from one of  three convenient starting points around the City. Upon arrival at Bridgeport Park riders will be greeted with free lunch and a host of family friendly activities. There will be a bike decorating contest for kids sponsored by the City's Parkmobile and attendees can challenge each other to a "Stationary  Bike Race" andwin fun prizes and, more importantly, bragging rights. Additionally members of the fitness and wellness community will be onsite with giveaways and information.

Hit the Trail encourages Santa Clarita residents to join one another and celebrate our healthy lifestyle. The event is completely free and there is no sign-ups. All residents need to do to participate is to show up at  one of the pre-determinedstartinglocationsand be ready to Hit theTrail at 9:30 sharp. School children can sign in at the City booth to receive "Spirit Points"  for  their school that will go towards the Santa Clarita Sprit Bell Competition in support of the Amgen Tour of California. The giveaways will include bicycle helmets and sporting goods and along with the free food are available while supplies last.
