Seasonal events are our specialty, from the Cowboy Festival in the spring, Concerts in the Park in the summer, to Thursdays@Newhall in the fall, and the Santa Clarita Marathon in the winter. Old Town Newhall transforms from a bustling retail and dining destination by day, to a thriving Arts and Entertainment District by night, as the City of Santa Clarita hosts the Thursdays@Newhall series. Enjoy free weekly entertainment and nightlife on Main Street every Thursday evening. On the first Thursday enjoy JAM Sessions, interactive dance and music, and 10 by 10, a theatrical variety night. On the second Thursday, catch live music at Note by Note, a music showcase, and art, games, cars, and movies at the rotating Variety Night. On the third Thursday, experience the SENSES block party and check out the Art Reception inside The MAIN. On the 4th Thursday, on alternating months participate in the ARTree Speaker Series or New Heights, an artist development series.

The City of Santa Clarita is celebrating Youth Art Month by hosting the 2018 Youth Art Showcase on Saturday, March 24, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, located at The Centre. The free event gives students in the Santa Clarita Valley an opportunity to showcase their talent by performing or displaying their art for the community. Each school district will highlight their visual artists and performing artists, local dance studios will lead participatory movement and dance classes, student artists will display their street painting masterpieces and local art studios will give interactive art demonstrations.

Let the hunt begin! Santa Clarita is holding its popular free egg hunt event happening this Saturday, March 31, at Central Park. The egg hunt is open to kids 10 & under. The Egg Scramble Egg Hunt at the City’s annual Eggstravaganza will take place Saturday, March 31, at 10 a.m. at Central Park. The event is free and open to the public.

The City of Santa Clarita’s Earth Arbor Day celebration, presented by the SCV Family of Water Suppliers on Saturday, April 28 & Sunday, April 29 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Central Park is an event that is held in conjunction with the worldwide Earth Day efforts of improving environmental awareness and taking care of the planet. Join in the festivities at this eco-friendly event to renew your commitment to reduce, reuse, and recycle to protect and preserve our environment.

Tickets are now on sale for the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, presented by Herritage Sierra Medical, set for April 19 - 22, 2018 in Old Town Newhall. For more than 24 years, this community event has rounded up visitors from across the United States and beyond to experience the best in Cowboy music and attractions. The 2018 Cowboy Festival will feature more performances and activities than ever before, in Old Town Newhall, providing a unique glimpse into Santa Clarita’s own Wild West past.

The City of Santa Clarita’s popular summer Concerts in the Park, presented by Logix Federal Credit Union, is back for a 28th year with an eclectic line-up of all-new acts, including award-winning tribute bands highlighting some of the greats. The free, annual concert series kicks off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Central Park, located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road.

The City of Santa Clarita will be hosting the Summer Bash in Canyon Country, on Friday, June 29 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm on Luther Drive. Summer Bash will transform Luther Drive into a family-friendly block party experience complete with a live music, food trucks, beer garden, and fun family activities. Entrance to the event is free

Cool off this summer and make a splash with a family Dive-In-Movie night in a unique outdoor setting. The City of Santa Clarita’s 2018 Dive-In Movie series allows residents to relax poolside at a local Santa Clarita pool while enjoying their favorite PG-rated films. For just $7.00 per person, families can settle in for a Saturday night at the cinema under the stars from the comfort of a poolside lounge chair or even the pool itself. All Dive-In Movies start at 7:00 p.m. with this year’s lineup to be announced.

Come help clean a portion of the Santa Clara River… the longest free-flowing river and one of the last two natural river systems remaining in Southern California at the annual River Rally on Saturday, September 22, starting at 8:00 am . Be a part of the solution for a better environment by helping to preserve the river’s natural beauty and variety of wildlife. To date, thousands of volunteers have collected over 410,000 pounds of trash and debris from the Santa Clara River and its tributaries! Pre-Registration will be required through the web-based volunteer registration system.

The 11th Annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest and Spooky Family Fair will be held on Saturday, October 20, beginning at 6:00 pm at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center. Watch certified SCUBA dive teams create underwater masterpieces in the depths of the Aquatics diving pool at 6:00 p.m. and enjoy games and trick or treating around the pool. An underwater camera will capture all the action so spectators can watch the dive teams’ progress live on a big screen while participating in various festive activities. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in Halloween costumes.

The Santa Clarita Marathon, an official qualifying race for the Boston Marathon, will test the physical boundaries of the human body on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Race day includes a full marathon, a half marathon, a 5K run, Mayor’s Walk, and a Kid K run. All races begin at 7:00 am, with the exception of the Kid K, which will begin at 8:30 a.m.

On Sunday, November 11 at 11:00 am, the City of Santa Clarita invites community members to attend a special Veterans Day Ceremony to honor local veterans, currently-serving military and their families. Hosted in partnership with local Veterans organizations, this ceremony includes musical performers, speakers, and the changing of the flags.

The City of Santa Clarita invites residents to spend some time in Old Town Newhall to kick off the holiday season. Light Up Main Street celebration in Old Town Newhall happens on Saturday, November 17, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with festive dance and music performances from local groups. The Santa Clarita City Council will officially turn on the lights around 7:00 pm to transform Main Street into a winter wonderland. The street will be adorned with thousands of lights and a 23-foot Christmas tree in front of the Old Town Newhall Library will serve as an anchor to the festive street.
