Thursdays@Newhall Closes Out 2017 In Style
10 By 10, Note By Note and Art Reception Highlight the December Schedule
The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, continues in December with free artistic events in Old Town Newhall. Popular events 10 By 10, Note By Note and an artist reception at The MAIN line the calendar on Thursday nights.
Thursdays@Newhall is an ongoing opportunity for residents of Santa Clarita to attend free shows and concerts on Thursdays in Old Town Newhall.
The schedule begins on December 7 at The MAIN, located at 24266 Main Street, when 10 performers will take the stage for 10 minutes each and share their comedy, storytelling, short films and music at the monthly 10 By 10 show from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Performances this month include music by The New Mexican, Steven Kai van Betten and Steve Messick, storytelling with Kat High, Vicki Juditz and Isadora O’Boto, magic with Brian Hoffman, comedy by Steve Saracino, ventriloquism by Dan Sachoff and a screening of the short film “Helpless,” written by Zac Titus and directed by Brent Huff.
On December 14, local musicians will take the stage at Note By Note inside The MAIN. Note By Note is a music showcase presenting audiences with a variety of genres at a free evening of fun. Bands, duos and soloists will play their blend of music for the audience’s listening pleasure. Come enjoy a wide range of music styles including rock, folk, Celtic, Americana, blues, jazz, country, experimental, western and more! Featured performers in December include Ted Case, Tom Renaud, Sassy Grandma’s and Ross Altman. Performers interested in Note By Note can learn more at OldTownNewhall.com/NotebyNote.
Thursdays@Newhall’s December slate finishes with an art reception on December 21 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The MAIN for this month’s featured exhibit, “Headspace,” by Tyler Scully. Scully demonstrates the growing disconnection of the hyper connected digital world. “Headspace” allows the audience to experience portraits through the disjointed lens of internet culture. Guests attending this free reception will enjoy light appetizers, entertainment and a chance to meet Scully.
