Annual Santa Clarita Earth Arbor Day Festival Returns April 29 & 30

The Santa Clarita Earth Arbor Day Festival, sponsored by the SCV Family of Water Suppliers, returns to Central Park on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30 with more booths and vendors to inspire participants to renew their commitment to reduce, reuse and recycle. This FREE celebration is held in conjunction with the worldwide Earth Day and is combined with the KHTS Santa Clarita Home and Garden Show, the Emergency Expo and the Arts and Crafts Fair. On Saturday, April 29, festival hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 30, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All Earth Arbor Day activities will be taking place at Central Park, located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road.

Participants will enjoy over 250 vendors, 12 food trucks, 60 Santa Clarita artists and an opportunity to take a tree home. One thousand free trees will be given out at the festival on Saturday. For adult participants, Reyes Winery will be offering a wine tasting room. In addition, a cArt aRt decorating competition will be held for the chance to win prizes. Individuals interested in transforming trash carts into art must fill out a form available online at GreenSantaClarita.com/EarthArborDay and reserve their trash cart with Laura Jardine at (661) 255-4376 or ljardine@santa-clarita.com. Forms must be submitted before April 14, 2017 and entries must be brought to the Environmental Services booth at Central Park on Saturday, April 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Entries will be judged on the same day for cash prizes and winners will be notified the following week.  Any cArt aRt not picked up between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29 will be on display at the festival on Sunday then recycled or donated.
